Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a licensed practical nurse for a school-based, one-on-one pediatric contract near Danbury, NC. You will provide essential medical care in a supportive classroom setting, with a schedule Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 am to 2:20 pm, promoting consistent hours and work-life balance.

You’ll monitor respiratory status, perform tracheostomy care, administer G-Tube feedings and medications, and oversee oxygen management while maintaining overall student comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Current LPN or LVN licensure required.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and monitoring, including suctioning and emergency replacement.
• Familiarity with pediatric care settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the student’s respiratory status; suction tracheostomy as needed.
• Administer trach care, change ties/gauze, replace trach if blocked or dislodged.
• Provide G-Tube feedings and administer prescribed medications and water flushes.

As a dedicated professional for this one-on-one position, you'll provide essential medical care, using your expertise to ensure a safe and nurturing learning experience. The student is fully mobile and actively participates in class, adding to the engaging pace of your day.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current LPN or LVN licensure required
• Experience with tracheostomy care and monitoring, including suctioning and emergency replacement
• Skilled in administering G-Tube feedings and medications via feeding pump
• Comfortable with pulse oximetry, oxygen management, and routine vital sign monitoring
• Familiarity with early childhood care (especially Pre-K or pediatric settings) a plus
• Compassionate communication and a patient-centered approach

Daily Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the students respiratory status; suction tracheostomy as needed
• Administer trach care, change ties/gauze, replace trach if blocked or dislodged
• Provide G-Tube feedings, give prescribed medications and water flushes
• During nap time, keep continuous pulse oximeter monitoring and manage oxygen as ordered
• Support with hygiene, diaper changes, and regular comfort care
• Remain vigilant about the students overall condition throughout each day
