Job summary

The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) in Wisconsin is seeking a licensed school nurse to join our pupil services team. The role focuses on creating welcoming, equitable health support environments that maximize students’ learning opportunities and success across districts.

As a core member of the team, you will advocate for educational equity, lead health policy initiatives, and coordinate care with families, teachers, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current registered nurse license in Wisconsin.
• CPR/AED certification required; DPI licensure within 3 years of employment.
• Experience working cross-culturally and committed to cultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of school-based health policies and procedures.
• Lead on Student Support and Intervention Team (SSIT) participation and School-based Leadership Team (SBLT).
• Develop Individualized Care Plans (IHP) and monitor interventions and outcomes; create Emergency Health Plans (EHP).
• Educate staff on chronic illness implications for learning and coordinate care with families.
