Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse for Gateway Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska. The role requires completion of a Registered Nursing Program and an active Nebraska nursing license (or NLC).

CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days is required. The nurse will provide on-site health care, maintain student health records, and develop emergency plans to support student safety and academic success.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Registered Nursing Program, required.
• Current Nebraska nursing license or through Nurse Licensure Compact, required.
• BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, required.
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree or actively working towards a bachelor's degree; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site nursing care for students with varied medical issues.
• Develops emergency health care plans and conducts health assessments.
• Maintains immunization records per state requirements and health data.
• Coordinates with staff and families to promote student health and well-being.
