Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse for Pawnee Elementary and Wilson Focus Elementary in Omaha, NE. The role involves protecting student health, coordinating care, and supporting academic success across both campuses.

The nurse will manage health records, immunizations, and emergency plans while collaborating with staff, families, and the district. Requires RN license, CPR/AED, and Nebraska credentials.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Registered Nursing Program.
• Hold a valid nursing license with Nebraska’s Department of Health & Human Services or the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• CPR & AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree or active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree; BSN preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Special Services School Nurse Certificate through the Nebraska Department of Education, preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of OPS’s mission and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing/health care for children with varied medical issues.
• Conduct on-site health assessments and develop emergency health care plans.
• Maintain immunization program compliance and health records.
• Coordinate with staff and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Respond promptly in emergency situations and maintain confidentiality.
