Job summary

MAB Community Services is seeking a School Nurse Coordinator for Ivy Street School in Massachusetts. This full-time in-school role involves medication administration, case coordination, and direct health services to neurodiverse students in a private residential setting.

Responsibilities include medication management, wellness monitoring, health education, and collaboration with external providers. Eligible candidates hold MA nursing license, CPI, CPR, and a clean driving record; passing

Qualifications

• Massachusetts nursing license is required.
• CPR and CPI certifications; trainings offered on-site.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatry, therapeutic school, or autism/youth with disabilities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ordering, administering, and managing medications and controlled substances through off grounds partnered pharmacy.
• Monitoring student medication changes and side effects.
• Assist with case management and care coordination between the members of the students outside care team via appointment planning and organization.
• Monitoring students’ overall wellness, and follow up on implemented care plan based on individualized needs.
• Providing health education and acting as a liaison with community physicians and health care providers.
• Monitoring and preparing medications needed for off grounds trips and home visits.
• Communicating with Director of Nursing, clinicians, and other support staff about health concerns and medical incidents.
• Transportation and attendance at appointments when necessary.
• General office inventory and upkeep.
• Supporting students in planning and preparing for their appointments.
• Student and staff medication training when necessary.
• May provide orientation and in-service training on behalf of the clinical team.
• Holds a late-night shift once a week (until 6:30pm).
