Job summary

Onward Education is seeking experienced Certified School Nurses (RN) for a Cook County, IL school district for the 2026–2027 year. This in-person role requires 35 hours per week with full-time hours and involves supporting students with disabilities across Pre-K–12.

This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills as a school nurse to support students with disabilities at the district level.

Location: In-person (no hybrid or remote options available)

Guaranteed Hours: Full tim 35 hours a week

Grade Levels: Various, Pre-K through 12

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily medical care and respond promptly to student health needs during program hours.
• Administer and document medications, maintain accurate health records, and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor for signs of illness or injury and deliver appropriate care, first aid, or referrals as needed.
• Conduct state-mandated health screenings, including vision and hearing assessments.
• Collaborate with staff and families to support students with special health needs, including contributing to IEPs for special education students.
• Serve as a key health resource for students, families, and school staff by promoting wellness and addressing health-related concerns.
• Ensure compliance with district policies, state health regulations, and best practices in school nursing.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Illinois license.
• Prior experience working in a school or pediatric setting.
