Job summary

EDU-AIDs LLC is seeking a School Nurse (RN) to promote student health, safety, and well-being and support a positive learning environment in Wahkiacus, WA. The nurse will provide direct care, manage medications, and develop IHPs for students with chronic conditions in collaboration with educators and families.

The role requires an active RN license, CPR/BLS, and strong communication skills to work with students, staff, and healthcare providers while supporting inclusive education and health

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state (Washington).
• BSN preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, public health, or community health preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEPs, and school health regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students including first aid, illness assessment, emergency care and health counseling.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and school policies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to support student health and educational success.
• Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings to address students' healthcare needs.
• Conduct required health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.).
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and implement emergency procedures.
• Promote health education, wellness, disease prevention, and infection control in the school community.

The School Nurse will collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to ensure students receive the medical support they need to succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, emergency care, and health counseling.

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic medical conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEPs, and school health regulations is preferred.
