Job summary

Francis Howell School District is seeking a Registered Nurse to support student health and safety within our schools. You will manage health care needs, develop health plans, and ensure compliance with health regulations to support the educational process.

The RN will administer screenings, assess student health issues, respond to emergencies, and maintain confidential health records. This role collaborates with the Nurse Coordinator and school administrators to promote a healthy learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Relevant job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
• Ability to manage health care projects, use relevant software, and maintain accurate records.
• Understanding of health standards, regulations, and practices.
• Ability to handle diverse health situations, maintain confidentiality, and work with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer and coordinate health screenings such as vision, hearing, and blood pressure assessments.
• Assess and manage student health issues, including chronic conditions and emergencies.
• Develop and implement Individual Health Plans to address students' health needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal requirements.
• Provide health education and care, including medication administration and specialized treatments.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
• Research and stay updated on health topics to enhance knowledge and practices.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse supports the educational process by managing health care needs, developing health plans, ensuring compliance with health regulations, providing immediate care, serving as a health resource, and conducting health screenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Health Screenings: Administer and coordinate health screenings such as vision, hearing, and blood pressure assessments.
• Patient Assessment: Assess and manage student health issues, including chronic conditions and emergencies.
• Health & Safety Issues: Identify and address safety and health concerns, including abuse, and refer students for further treatment as needed.
• Data Collection: Collect and document health data to support assessments and improve nursing practices.
• Communication: Report health and safety issues to the Nurse Coordinator and School Administrators.
• Health Plans: Develop and implement Individual Health Plans to address students' health needs.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal requirements.
• Education & Training: Provide health education and care, including medication administration and specialized treatments.
• Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
• Research: Research and stay updated on health topics to enhance knowledge and practices.

Minimum Qualifications
