Job Summary

The Registered Nurse supports the educational process by managing health care needs, developing health plans, ensuring compliance with health regulations, providing immediate care, serving as a health resource, and conducting health screenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Health Screenings: Administer and coordinate health screenings such as vision, hearing, and blood pressure assessments.
• Patient Assessment: Assess and manage student health issues, including chronic conditions and emergencies.
• Health & Safety Issues: Identify and address safety and health concerns, including abuse, and refer students for further treatment as needed.
• Data Collection: Collect and document health data to support assessments and improve nursing practices.
• Communication: Report health and safety issues to the Nurse Coordinator and School Administrators.
• Health Plans: Develop and implement Individual Health Plans to address students' health needs.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal requirements.
• Education & Training: Provide health education and care, including medication administration and specialized treatments.
• Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
• Research: Research and stay updated on health topics to enhance knowledge and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience: Relevant job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
• Skills: Ability to manage health care projects, use relevant software, and maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge: Understanding of health standards, regulations, and practices.
• Abilities: Ability to handle diverse health situations, maintain confidentiality, and work with various stakeholders.
