Job summary

Minnetonka Public School Service Center is seeking a Musical Accompanist to provide piano and instrumental accompaniments for rehearsals and performances district-wide. The role requires mastery of multiple instruments and strong sight-reading for choral works.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent ability, experience with school-age students, and a commitment to confidentiality, teamwork, and maintaining a positive classroom environment all year long.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music preferred or professional level ability to play.
• Evidence of successful experiences working with school age music students.
• Confidentiality, teamwork, and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and play piano, keyboard, guitar, bass, violin/viola, percussion, horn or any musical instrument accompaniments employing advanced musical skills and proficiency in multiple choral genres in rehearsal and public performances.
• Demonstrate proficient advanced sight-reading skills.
• Practice as music may indicate to ensure secure performances and playing of vocal parts (open score) during rehearsals.
• Run sectionals and coach music students during section rehearsals, providing a summary to the director.
