Job summary

Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a Food Services Driver (BC-03) to support school meal programs across campuses. You will coordinate with food service staff, load and deliver meals, and help prepare simple menu items while ensuring safety and timely service.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, read and write English, and hold a valid Hawaii driver’s license. The role requires attention to sanitation, record-keeping, and occasional supervision of student helpers.

Qualifications

• Possess ability to read, write and understand English and perform basic math.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Hawaii motor vehicle license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with food service staff to ensure timely meal service.
• Cook simple starches and prepare fruits/vegetables as needed.
• Operate and drive a food service vehicle for satellite deliveries.
• Verify servings and document time/temperature on site records.
• Set up serving counters, serve students and staff, and restock items.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
