Job summary

Be responsible for information distribution and eligibility of the free and reduced meal program. Work under the direct supervision of the Child Nutrition Manager. Maintain accurate records, food service sales reports, collections, and deposits.

Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations. Essential duties include distributing information, explaining eligibility criteria, maintaining applicant files, and processing money for prepaid meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to handle money quickly and accurately.
• Must have or obtain a Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Distribute information and applications for free and reduced meals.
• Explain eligibility criteria and procedures to parents and students.
• Process and maintain a permanent file of applications by eligibility.
• Implement USDA program policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records for prepayment accounts and deposits.
• Prepare daily sales and participation reports and snack bar reports.
• Assist with meal preparation as directed by Cafeteria Manager.
