Job summary

East Side Union High School District is seeking a Child Nutrition Worker I to assist in preparing and packaging food in a school food service setting. You will also serve meals, monitor cashiers, and maintain sanitary facilities in multiple sites.

This role may involve supervising student assistants as needed. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of basic kitchen equipment, the ability to follow instructions, and strong arithmetic for handling money and records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic kitchen and food serving utensils and equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine arithmetical calculations accurately.
• May require California Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of foods such as sandwiches, salads, and hamburgers.
• Serve food at cafeterias and satellite units; monitor student cashiers/servers.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work areas and equipment.
• Operate and clean food service appliances and equipment.
• Count and record monies collected and inventory on hand.
