Job summary

Unified School District No. 232 seeks a Student Nutrition Assistant for Belmont Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Shift hours are 6 per day, 7:30 am – 1:30 pm, with responsibilities in food prep, sanitation, and serving meals to students and staff.

Starting wage is $15.60 per hour, commensurate with experience, with an excellent benefits package offered. Completion of Food Basics Safety Class within 2 months of hire is required, along with TB testing and fitness standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of Food Basics Safety Class within 2 months of hire.
• Must pass standardized strength & agility testing (up to 50 pounds).
• Current TB test (within 12 months) required or provide test results.
• Reliable references and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares foods from recipes or instructions.
• Cleans and stores equipment; observes sanitation regulations.
• Serves food to students and staff.
• Receives, unpacks, stores and rotates food and supply stocks.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Student Nutrition Kitchen Manager.
