Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools is looking for dedicated personnel in the Custodial and Maintenance division. This full-time position involves routine maintenance tasks on school vehicles, equipment repairs, and assisting maintenance staff. The ideal candidate should be interested in mechanics and possess basic repair skills.

A high school diploma is preferred, and applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Benefits and salary details will be outlined in the current agreement with the Proviso Custodial and Maintenance Union SEIU Local 73.

Qualifications

• High school student or graduate (vocational or technical trade program preferred).
• Basic understanding of tools, vehicles, or mechanical systems is helpful.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Valid driver's license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance on school vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and repair mechanical components under supervision.
• Help troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair and maintain door hardware throughout school buildings.
• Support maintenance staff with repairs of building equipment.
• Maintain and organize tools, parts, and supplies.
• Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Snow removal and other duties as assigned.
