POSITION SUMMARY

Position Title: School Maintenance Specialist (Heavy Equipment Operator), CE-4749-03

Location: Education Resource Center, Navajo Central NM, Crownpoint, NM

Type: Full time, Year Long

Salary Range: $24.20 to $38.48 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate heavy engineering equipment such as backhoe loaders, motor graders, front end loaders, bulldozers, and street sweepers to maintain and repair campus grounds and infrastructure.
2. Transport equipment using a 5-15 ton truck tractor, load and secure equipment, and perform minor repairs and maintenance.
3. Follow safety and environmental policies to promote workplace safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED
• Current state certification or licensure as a Heavy Equipment Operator (Journeyman level preferred)
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Valid State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and maintain good physical condition

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Background check and drug testing
• Favorable driving record
• Ability to operate a government vehicle and equipment safely
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet other federal employment criteria
