Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a skilled painter/maintenance worker to prepare surfaces, perform minor repairs, and apply finishes on interior and exterior areas within schools. This role involves selecting materials, painting walls and structures, and coordinating with Facility Services staff to resolve maintenance issues.

The ideal candidate can operate lift equipment, follow written and oral instructions, and maintain safety while working at heights.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of painting and finishing/refinishing methods.
• Ability to rig and work from scaffolds and operate equipment safely.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills, including IPad use.
• Valid VA driver’s license required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares interior and exterior surfaces for painting or refinishing.
• Makes minor plaster and drywall repairs and completes drywall tape joints as needed.
• Determines the correct products to use and prepares materials.
• Paints various surfaces and coordinates with other staff to resolve maintenance issues.
• Responds to emails and completes electronic work orders.
