Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a skilled painter to prepare, prime and finish interior and exterior surfaces across school facilities. You will receive and complete electronic work orders, coordinate with team members, and operate scissor/boom lifts when needed.

This role requires knowledge of paints and finishing materials, ability to work safely on scaffolds, and to follow written and oral instructions. A Virginia driver's license is required; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of painting and finishing methods.
• Ability to rig and work from scaffolds and use related equipment.
• Safe and efficient operation of tools and machinery.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares interior and exterior surfaces for painting and refinishing.
• Repairs plaster and drywall joints as needed.
• Mazes product selection for painting and finishes.
• Mixes paints, stains, plasters, enamels, and removers.
• Paints walls, ceilings, trim, furniture, floors, and outdoor surfaces.
• Works with maintenance staff and school personnel to resolve issues.
• Responds to emails and completes electronic work orders.
• Operates scissor/boom lift and adheres to safety practices.
• Other related duties as assigned.
