Job summary

Blue Springs School District seeks a Skilled Maintenance Tier 2 - Painter to support the educational process with general maintenance, painting surfaces, and coordinating work orders district-wide. This 260-day, full-time position offers benefits and a compensation range commensurate with experience.

The role requires safety compliance, ability to work with carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades, and coordination with other contractors.

Qualifications

Skilled maintenance involving carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Experience with operating a range of equipment (saws, drills, forklifts).

Responsibilities

Follow proper safety procedures and use PPE as necessary.
Identify and report hazardous conditions.
Maintain professional, customer-service oriented attitude.
Prepare and finish surfaces by repairing, priming, and applying coatings for quality painting.
Perform drywall installation, repair, finishing, and surface prep.
Respond promptly to work orders and emergencies.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and codes.
Coordinate with outside contractors to complete projects on time.
Inform supervisor about procedures and status of work orders.
Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe condition.
Prepare written materials documenting activities and labor/material costs.
Repair and maintain equipment and systems for safe operation.
