Job summary

Star Valley Middle School in Afton, Wyoming is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker (3 hours per day) to help prepare meals, operate kitchen equipment, and ensure safety and sanitation standards while meeting daily lunch service goals.

You will follow tested recipes, maintain proper food storage, and collaborate with the Food Service Director and staff. English reading/writing required; one year of quantity food production preferred. Position open until filled.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested, uniform recipes
• Maintain proper storage and care of food items and supplies; maintain a clean and organized storage area
• Demonstrate knowledge and follow care and use of equipment
• Maintain sanitary working conditions to eliminate contamination
• Meet all scheduled meal times, portions, and serve the food per departmental policies and procedure
• Maintain garbage collection in a neat and sanitary fashion
• Enforce standards of cleanliness, health and safety
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene
• Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members
• Perform other duties as requested by the Kitchen Manager or the Food Service Director whenever his/her duties and/or experience would be necessary to initiate, coordinate, or complete any given program
