Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools is seeking a Food Prep Assistant for district-wide service. This 3-hour-per-day position supports daily meal preparation, service, sanitation, and inventory under the supervision of the kitchen manager.

The role requires ability to lift up to 38 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a busy school kitchen while following MN Food Code and USDA guidelines. Starting wage ranges from $19.24 to $22.84 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in school nutrition or food service preferred.
• Serve Safe class within last 3 years or 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with the manager on all aspects of preparation, service, sanitation, recording of meals and clean up.
• Understands MN Food Code and USDA Guidelines for School Nutrition.
• Performs food prep including all kitchen equipment.
• Accurately handles cash and operates computer programs related to POS.
• Maintains clear communication and supports program improvements.
