Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Kitchen Assistant-Select Charter to support daily lunch program operations in charter schools with limited equipment. You will assist with meal service, POS transactions, and maintaining sanitation standards while building relationships with students and the community.

The role offers part-time hours (0.75 FTE), 30 hours per week, with a salary range based on full-time equivalents and benefits including health, vision, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to operate POS systems and handle monies accurately.
• Interest in school lunch program coordination and community relations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Point of Sale system with accuracy and reconcile monies daily to ensure accuracy.
• Participate in training (PGI Classes) and may lead training for other kitchen staff.
• Serve meals daily while complying with food regulations and health department sanitation standards.
• Foster positive relationships with the surrounding community.
• Assist in set up and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students.
• Assist in preparation, service and sale of meals following menu and recipes.
