Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA in Woodstock is seeking a dedicated School Nutrition worker for the nutrition program. The role is hourly, pays $18 per hour, with a 183-day contract year.

You will assist in meal preparation, follow recipes for healthy menus, apply portion control, maintain safety and sanitation, and help with serving lines and equipment. Must have a high school diploma or GED preferred; food service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or GED preferred; food service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals according to nutrition standards.
• Maintain hygiene and safety procedures in a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of various foods for cooking and serving.
• Follow recipes to ensure the menus are low-fat and healthy.
• Use portion control to equally portion all foods.
• Implement state/local health codes as they relate to food service.
• Follow all safety regulations.
• Wash dishes, and store them properly.
• Sweep and clean kitchen floors.
• Serve on the serving line.
• Know the procedures for operating large and small food service equipment.
• Follow appropriate dress codes to represent school nutrition in a professional manner.
• Clean equipment, kitchen and dining tables, as needed.
• Report faulty equipment to School Nutrition Manager.
• Help with unloading and storage of foods and supplies.
