Job summary

Upper Arlington City Schools is seeking a High School Float Cook at Upper Arlington High School. This part-time, non-exempt role supports daily lunch and breakfast service, follows menus, and ensures proper heating, storage, and safety of meals.

You will assist with ordering, inventory, and maintaining sanitary kitchen operations. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of related experience, and a ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain one).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to acquire.
• 1–2 years of related food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals per daily menu and ensure timely service.
• Order food and supplies according to menu plan.
• Maintain proper heating, storage, and safety of foods.
• Adhere to sanitary standards and perform kitchen clean-up.
• Monitor and document daily production and inventory.
• Serve students with courteous, friendly service.
• Follow recipes and portion sizes during lunch periods.
• Maintain safe, orderly work areas and assist head cook as needed.
