Job summary

Sylvania at Dexter High School seeks a dependable Cook/Cashier to prepare and serve meals to students, provide friendly customer service, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen for daily food service operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and computer use, and the ability to work Monday through Friday about six hours daily. ServeSafe certification may be required within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer as an operational tool.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation for district travel.

Responsibilities

• Engage with students and staff in a positive manner.
• Prepare and serve meals according to guidelines and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and sanitize surfaces.
• Balance cash drawer and keep accurate records.
• Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Complete ServeSafe Certification within six months of hire if required.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director or Kitchen Manager.
