Job summary

Whitsons is seeking a Food Service Utility Worker to help keep our school kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly while supporting daily meal service for students. You’ll wash dishes, sanitize prep areas, assist with deliveries, and help with basic prep tasks in a fast-paced kitchen.

Training is provided on the job, with no prior experience required. The role offers a consistent schedule (no nights or weekends) and growth opportunities within a friendly school environment.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Whitsons and government-mandated training as required.
• Minimum 1 year of professional food service experience preferred but not required.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to speak and read English sufficient to understand and perform job assignments, follow recipes, and comply with safety requirements.
• Positive and professional image; works well in a fast-paced kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize prep areas, counters, and floors.
• Take out trash and keep storage areas tidy.
• Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
• Support the kitchen team with basic prep tasks when needed.
