Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Satellite kitchen supervisor in Seattle to heat and serve nutritious meals, manage the serving area, and oversee staff and student workers. You will ensure food safety, sanitation, and accurate recordkeeping while coordinating with the Central Kitchen as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid WA Food Handler's Permit, and strong teamwork and communication skills to support students and school staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and sanitation practices.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and maintain records.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety requirements in a kitchen.
• Understand and comply with USDA school meal patterns and state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Heat and serve high quality, nutritious meals following menu planners.
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety for staff and students.
• Develop and post work schedules and serving area diagrams for smooth operations.
• Maintain records: meal count, cash count, orders, deliveries, inventory and reports.
• Train and supervise staff and student workers; evaluate performance.
• Promote Culinary Services programs to increase meal participation.
• Check and secure kitchen and dining area at end of shift.
