Job summary

Three Rivers Community Schools seeks a Kitchen Associate to support school meal programs in its High School and Middle School kitchens. Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, cashiering as needed, and maintaining high sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and preferred prior food service experience. A friendly, efficient service attitude is essential for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic measuring of ingredients, adjusting recipes and managing inventory.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems with variable factors.
• Other Skills & Abilities: Basic computer/clerical skills; ability to work independently; positive attitude and self-direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparation work: washing, peeling, cutting, seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients per recipe.
• Transport pans, kettles, and trays to/from workstations, stoves, and refrigerators per safety standards.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating, safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain sanitation standards.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards for quality and portion control.
• Serve students and staff in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Relay concerns to supervisor and maintain compliance with service standards and cash control.
• Maintain sanitation and safety requirements; represent the district positively.
• Adhere to district policies and chain of command; perform additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain a consistent and reliable on-site work schedule.
