Job summary

NMS is seeking a Food Service Worker to join a school kitchen team. The role involves cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, and serving duties across kitchen, storeroom, and dining areas.

The position emphasizes hygienic practices, teamwork, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy school setting. A high school diploma or GED and basic food service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one (1) year of work experience or vocational training related to cleaning, food prep, and cleaning processes preferred.
• Certain positions require a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record for insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc., and stores them in organized areas.
• Maintains products at proper levels in prep, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
• Stocks storage areas with various products.
• Cleans, sweeps, wipes, and maintains dining, kitchen, or storage areas and equipment.
• Removes garbage and sets up/breaks down tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
• Assists with periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• Supports cooks and others and coordinates activities with team.
• Occasionally may prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, or meats.
