Job summary

Chartwells K12 in Ann Arbor Public Schools is hiring immediately for a full-time Sous Chef. The shift runs Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, in a school dining environment.

Responsibilities include assisting the Executive Chef, coordinating cooks, and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly. Prior sous chef experience is required and the position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior sous chef experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviews, and disciplinary action as appropriate.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; keeps workstation clean during service.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
