Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Baton Rouge (Southern University Laboratory School) is seeking a full-time Sous Chef to lead kitchen operations and coordinate cooks and food-service staff. You will support the Executive Chef, ensure production standards, and help maintain quality and safety across meal service.

The position requires prior sous chef and food service experience, with a schedule from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, and online applications are accepted.

Qualifications

• Prior sous chef and food service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including scheduling, payroll and training.
• Stores food following all safety procedures and maintains sanitation of equipment and workstation.
• Maintains proper food handling, presentation and serving temperatures.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries and informs supervisor when supplies are low.
