Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or refrigeration certification preferred but not required.
• Possess and maintain valid Alabama driver’s license.
• Experience working with cafeteria equipment.
• MPS insurable driving record required.
• Background clearance through FBI and ABI processes.
• Subject to drug screening within Board policy.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in food service and refrigeration systems.
• Install new food service and refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Relocate and expand existing food service and refrigeration systems.
• Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and wiring.
• Provide outstanding customer service and positive interpersonal communication.
• Make decisions and perform all tasks per Montgomery Public Schools' values.
• Ensure compliance with Board rules and federal/state laws.
• Perform incidental tasks consistent with the job goal.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
• Detect needed repairs on equipment via inspection procedures.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
