Job summary

Red Rabbit is hiring a Porter, In-School to join a 4-6 person team. The role emphasizes maintaining kitchen cleanliness, safety, and readiness for daily meal production in a Brooklyn setting.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of kitchen or food-service experience, basic equipment knowledge, and a can-do attitude. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; typical hours are 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday to Friday with a $16.00-$17.50 hourly wage.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of work experience in a restaurant, hotel or commissary kitchen.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and move between kitchen areas.
• Must work well in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly clean all areas of the kitchen to exceed DOH standards.
• Remove trash, cardboard, and compost promptly, keeping areas clean for food prep.
• Proactively set up the kitchen team for daily meal production.
• Other duties as assigned.
