Job summary

Red Rabbit is hiring Porters to join our NYC kitchen team with a 6:00AM start in a fast-paced, food-production environment. You will help ensure DOH standards and equipment readiness, while assisting with line prep and dish handling.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of restaurant or commissary experience, reliability, and a can-do attitude. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; high school diploma preferred. This is an in-school, full-time position with weekday hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of work experience in a restaurant, hotel or commissary kitchen.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and move around the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Properly clean all areas of the kitchen to exceed DOH standards (countertops, equipment, walk-ins, floors, sinks, dishes, storage).
• Remove trash and compost in a timely manner to keep the kitchen clean for food prep.
• Proactively ensure the kitchen team is set up for meal production each day.
• Support with line prep.
• Other duties as assigned.
