Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Cook in Washington, DC to prepare, cook, and present daily meals and special events at a private elementary school. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, with a pay range of $20–$22 per hour.

The Cook will handle large quantities of various items, adhere to recipes, and maintain food safety and quality. Benefits include health options, uniforms, meals, and mentorship opportunities in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass an FBI background check.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience in high-volume food service, preferably school environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preparation, cooking, and portioning of large quantities of food.
• Prepare items in batches to ensure quality and timely service.
• Follow recipes and suggest changes to improve quality.
• Cook, maintain, and store foods at required temperatures.
• Take and record temperatures per sanitation standards.
• Maintain records of production and leftovers for forecasting.
• Assist with organization and sanitation of coolers, freezers, storerooms.
• Attend daily production meetings and contribute ideas.
• Perform duties in line with food safety and sanitation best practices.
