Job summary

Greenwich Country Day School is seeking a Cook to start immediately. The role runs 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 10-month/year schedule.

You will join a state-of-the-art kitchen, preparing diverse, high-quality meals for hundreds of students and staff, and you will participate in special events as needed. We offer comprehensive benefits and a retirement package as part of a supportive dining division.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in hotels, restaurants, or catering.
• Able to lift 25–50+ pounds and stand for long periods.
• Proficient in food preparation and portion control.
• Previous experience in school or institutional setting preferred.
• Works well in a team and maintains a clean workstation.
• Detail-oriented with ability to follow dietary guidelines.
• Able to work evenings/weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping vegetables, and meat.
• Serve meals by following recipes and cooking ingredients.
• Follow safety protocols for sanitizing and food allergies.
• Produce items for the hot entree of the day and for events.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends for events.
