Job summary

Sunnyside School District 201 seeks a Cook for the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (OUT) at Outlook Elementary in Sunnyside, WA. This 1-year position entails preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining a sanitary kitchen, and ensuring proper food storage and disposal.

The role supports the National School Lunch Program and requires high school diploma and relevant permits. Hours are 2.5 days per week (Tue and Thu).

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of a team with students and adults in a positive and cooperative manner.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assists in cooking, preparing, and serving meals for the National School Lunch Program.
• Maintains sanitary kitchen and service areas through daily cleanup.
• Replenishes food supplies during meal service to meet nutrition requirements.
• Stores and disposes of unused food properly.
• Prepares order lists based on the menu.
• Monitors student food choices to meet mandated nutrition standards.
• Cleans refrigerators and storerooms per schedule.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
