Job summary

Whitsons is seeking a School Cook to support our nutrition program in a security-minded school kitchen. This role is Monday–Friday with no nights or weekends, offering steady hours and a pathway to growth.

You will cook meals per menus, maintain safety and cleanliness, and collaborate with the team to serve students efficiently. Training is provided, with benefits and a focus on healthy, student-centered meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, and required training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience; school nutrition or institutional experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or must be obtained within defined timeframe upon hire; local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction.
• Proficiency in recipe procedures and cooking techniques; English reading/writing sufficient for tasks, recipes, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus.
• Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Work with team to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner.
• Support dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures.
