Abby Kelley Foster Public Charter School is seeking a Kitchen/Cafeteria Staff - Transporter to support meal preparation, serving, and safe food handling in a school setting. The role requires reliable, punctual, and team-focused individuals who can manage walk transfers between campuses.

This is a 10-month, non-exempt hourly position based in Worcester, MA. Responsibilities include opening the kitchen, assisting with daily food prep, operating POS systems, and maintaining high sanitation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret simple instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in opening the kitchen daily and setting up food service operations.
• Oversee the preparation of school meals and assist in daily food preparation and serving.
• Transport (walk) food from the High School to the Middle School and provide meal service support.
• Ensure proper production, serving, and portion control and food safety standards.
• Receive and verify supply deliveries, ensure proper stock rotation and inventory records.
• Operate POS systems and reconcile daily receipts.
• Maintain sanitation in kitchen and storage areas.
• Train and direct work activities of other kitchen staff as needed.
• Attend district food service meetings and training sessions.
