Job summary

Norris Middle is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to help prepare, serve, and store meals for students and staff. The role includes maintaining sanitation, assisting with dish duties, and supporting service excellence within the school cafeteria.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, basic math skills, and the ability to work 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the school year. Local travel to other OPS sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic arithmetic using money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Food safety practices and procedures.
• Excellent attendance and reliability required.
• Customer service and service recovery skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, service, and storage of food.
• Support service excellence and customer care.
• Follow cafeteria menus and service protocols.
• Cross-train in kitchen stations to cover shifts.
• Monitor portion control and proper storage of supplies.
