Job summary

KIPP NYC Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to support daily meal service and maintain a clean, safe kitchen across one of our NYC campuses. You will wash dishes, assist with food preparation, and contribute to a positive team environment in a fast-paced school setting.

This is a full-time, in-person role based at a KIPP NYC campus in the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Manhattan. The leadership team will assign your primary work location, with on-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced food service or school nutrition is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and support students through meals.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.
• Assist bussing trays and dish return stations during meals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dishwashing area.
• Support food preparation and meal service as directed by the Head Chef.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety procedures and report issues promptly.
