Job summary

KIPP NYC Culinary is hiring a Dishwasher to support our school meals program across the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Manhattan campuses. The role ensures a clean, safe kitchen, handles dishwashing, and assists with basic food preparation to help serve students healthy, scratch-made meals at no cost to families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen or food service preferred but not required.
• Fundamental understanding of food safety and cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and reliability.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.
• Assist with bussing trays and dish return stations.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dishwashing area.
• Support food preparation and meal service as needed.
• Help with setup, cleanup, and special events.
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Head Chef.
