The Howard County Public School System is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform skilled manual and technical work maintaining heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The role reports to the Assistant Manager of Mechanical Engineering and requires diagnosing electrical, mechanical and electronic defects, with overtime and emergency response as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and four years of HVAC experience; preferred are an apprenticeship,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Four years of experience in care and maintenance of HVAC equipment and controls.
• Licensure such as CFC Certification and a Maryland Class C driver’s license are required or preferred.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and components.
• Disassemble, replace, and adjust defective parts; recharge systems as needed.
• Read wiring diagrams and technical manuals; document work in the system.
