Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Health Services Assistant to join the Health Services team for the 2026-2027 candidate pool. The role supports MPS students with health needs, administers basic episodic care under nurse guidance, and helps maintain health records and screenings at the Davis Center site.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of relevant care experience; AFSCME union; full-time equivalent work with possible extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; AND one year of medical technician/EMT/Nurse aide/Homecare PCA experience or equivalent as determined by HR.

Responsibilities

• Provides first aid and episodic care to students and responds to emergencies as needed.
• Administers medications and treatments under the guidance of the licensed school nurse.
• Maintains health records and enters data in the Electronic Pupil Health Record.
• Assists with health screenings and infection control.
• Participates in the Site Emergency Response Team and follows district protocols.
