Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator Health to support students under the supervision of the Licensed School Nurse. The role is full-time, 184 days/7 hours per day, with duties including first aid, medication administration, screenings, and health referrals.

Minimum qualifications include EMT/EMS/CMA/LPN/RN experience and CPR/AED certifications; strong communication and record-keeping skills are required. Ability to lift 40 lbs and work well with staff and students is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with EMT/EMS/CMA/LPN/RN preferred.
• Current Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED certifications or enrolled in a course on hire.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work with special needs students and staff.
• Ability to use technology and maintain records.
• Must lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Regular attendance on site.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health status of students and perform first aid per district protocols.
• Administer medications and care procedures as directed by physicians and parents.
• Follow care plans to administer medications and triage needs.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings.
• Coordinate with LSN to identify students needing health education/counseling.
• Monitor immunization records and assist with disease control.
• Maintain first aid and health care supplies.
• Provide staff care and be a resource for work injuries.
