Job summary

Richmond City Public Schools is seeking a Substitute School Nurse in Richmond, Virginia to support the school health program and provide emergency nursing services, immunizations, and health screenings as directed by the Coordinator of School Health Services. This is a non-contracted, temporary position with focus on health maintenance and safety in the school

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Nursing license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, teachers and administrators.
• Understanding of public school procedures and health services delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist coordinator of School Health Services in developing health programs.
• Deliver health services and emergency nursing as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date health records for students.
• Refer students to appropriate health resources when needed.
• Provide health education materials to staff, students and parents.
• Support school personnel in maintaining sanitary and safety standards.
