Job summary

The Santa Barbara Unified School District seeks a Licensed Nurse I (LVN/RN) to provide specialized health care services and first aid to students at Goleta Valley JH. Under the clinical direction of a District nurse, you will administer medical procedures and maintain health records.

Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting health information, and supporting medically fragile students, with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school is required.
• Two years of experience as an LVN is required.
• Preferred experience in K-12 public education or health environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer basic first aid, CPR, and routine or emergency care to students under supervision.
• Provide specialized health care services and administer medical procedures including catheterization and insulin/medication administration.
• Assist medically fragile students with toileting, catheterization, suctioning, colostomy care, oxygen administration and other health services.
• Dispense medications based on district procedures and maintain related health records.
• Reconcile health records with enrollment data and maintain health-related rosters.
• Assess medical conditions and provide minor first aid to ill or injured students.
