Job summary

Lompoc Unified School District is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for a 6.0-hour day, 208-day calendar position. The role provides a range of health services to students and staff under the direction of a credentialed school nurse.

Responsibilities include first aid, screenings, immunization record-keeping, administering medications per policy, and maintaining health records. A valid LPN/LVN or RN license and CPR/First Aid are required, with the district offering a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma with college-level coursework in nursing, health care or related field.
• Two years of health care experience.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificate; valid California LPN/LVN or RN license/certificate; valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability.

Responsibilities

• Provide health services to students and staff, including first aid, screening ill or injured students, and emergency care.
• Dispense prescribed medications as ordered by a physician, following district policies and procedures; monitor for reactions.
• Maintain cumulative health and immunization records and confidential files; prepare periodic reports and ensure CHDP compliance.
• Assist credentialed school nurse with mandated screening programs and follow-up on health issues.
• Operate medical equipment and health office procedures; keep health rooms clean and properly equipped.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned; ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
