Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual health assessments for students.
• Coordinate care plans for students with medical conditions, meeting with families and staff to establish care plans.
• Administer medications during school hours.
• Provide emergency and injury care, and maintain records; contact parents if there is a medical incident at school.
• Maintain immunization records and process physical forms.
• Assess school community health and safety issues.
• Screen students for conditions affecting education (vision, hearing).
• Advise administration and staff on health-related accommodations.
• Provide basic first aid and CPR when needed.
• Educate staff on the use of EpiPens and other medical devices.
• Interface with counselors and administrators regarding students who frequently visit the health room.
