Hawaii State Department of Education seeks a School Health Assistant I or II to support student health services in schools across Hawaii. This full-time role is authorized at the School Health Assistant II level with opportunities for recruitment at the I level when needed.

The position involves administering first aid, health screening, medication administration per guidelines, and coordinating with parents and staff to maintain a safe school health program.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma, or equivalent, which demonstrated the ability to read, comprehend and apply written instructions; and a high degree of verbal skill.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required at time of employment.
• Ability to work with students, staff and parents in a health services setting.

Responsabilités

• Administers emergency first aid care to ill or injured students.
• Takes temperature and observes students to determine illness signs.
• May administer medications only with proper approvals and guidelines.
